Building in Nigeria while living in Canada
Independent quantity surveying and site verification in Nigeria, for clients in Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa, Edmonton, Winnipeg and across Canada.
Canada's Nigerian community builds steadily, and the projects we see from it share a characteristic: they are well funded and carefully planned, and the weak point is almost never the money. It is the information returning from site.
Canadian winters also create a practical rhythm. Instructions often cluster in the first quarter of the year, when transfers are planned, and we schedule regional visits to group sites into a single trip where a client or a family has more than one project. That grouping is where a large part of the travel cost disappears.
Where a Canadian client is buying rather than building, the questions change: what is actually on the plot, what condition is it in, and what would it cost to complete or to put right. A measured survey and a cost-to-complete estimate answers all three.
How it works for clients in Canada
- Grouped regional visitsSeveral sites in one trip when a family or investor has multiple projects, with the saving passed on.
- Cost-to-complete estimatesFor unfinished or abandoned builds, what remains and what it will cost to finish.
- Purchase verificationWhat is actually on a plot being bought, measured and inspected rather than assumed.
Questions from Canada clients
Can you visit several family projects in one trip?
Yes, and it is usually the most economical way to work. Give us the locations and we will plan a regional visit and quote it as one engagement.
Can you tell me what it will cost to finish an abandoned build?
Yes. A measured survey of what exists, plus a cost-to-complete estimate for the remaining work, is a standard deliverable for that situation.
I am buying a property in Nigeria. Can you inspect it first?
Yes. We measure and report on what has been built, its condition and whether it matches the description you were given. For market value as an asset, a registered estate surveyor and valuer is the correct professional.
