Building in Nigeria while working in the UAE or the Gulf
Independent site verification and quantity surveying in Nigeria, for clients in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Doha and across the Gulf.
Gulf-based clients are often the most financially sophisticated diaspora group building in Nigeria, and they tend to ask harder questions earlier. The constraint is rarely willingness to fund a project; it is the limited leave available to inspect one.
Much of the Nigerian construction labour and supervision market is also connected to the Gulf, and it is common to find a project managed by someone with Gulf experience. That is usually an advantage, and it makes measurement easier rather than harder, because the vocabulary of valuations and certificates is already understood on site.
A practical pattern for Gulf clients is to compress monitoring into the leave cycle: a thorough measured valuation before travelling, attendance at the key uninspectable stages while in the country, and a written report afterwards to carry the arrangement through the rest of the year.
How it works for clients in UAE
- Leave-cycle schedulingIntensive visits during your time in Nigeria, with written reporting carrying the arrangement through the rest of the year.
- Key-stage inspectionsFoundation reinforcement, slab reinforcement, roof structure and services before they are covered.
- Familiar professional vocabularyValuations, certificates and measured claims are understood on site when supervision has Gulf experience.
Questions from UAE clients
Can you schedule visits around my leave?
Yes. That is the normal arrangement for Gulf clients: tell us your travel dates and we will plan measured valuations and key-stage inspections into that window.
How do I pay from the UAE?
Bank transfer to a naira account is the usual method and works from UAE banks. A written fee proposal and invoice is issued before work begins.
Can you attend site meetings while I am in the country?
Yes. Attendance at meetings and a written record of what was agreed is part of the service, and the record is often more valuable than the meeting.
Tell us about the project
Send the drawings, the site location, the stage of work and your next payment date. We will reply with a scope and a fee.
We read everything sent to info@peterch.org. Replies go out by WhatsApp — include a working number, with country code, in your first message.
